The Dronecode Foundation is proud to announce that UVIFY has upgraded its membership to Platinum level. As a Dronecode member since 2018 and as of 2026 now twice serving on the Dronecode Board of Directors, UVIFY has supported open source aerial robotics development for the better part of a decade. Its CEO and Founder Dr. Hyon Lim has been contributing to PX4 since 2012, making him one of the longest standing contributors to the PX4 ecosystem. Their elevation to Platinum reflects both their growth as a company and their deepening commitment to the open source ecosystem.
That growth has been remarkable. Founded in 2014, UVIFY has evolved from a small team of aerospace engineers into a world-class manufacturer with the proven ability to produce drones at scale. The company now serves commercial and government clients worldwide, with growing work in the defense sector. Their IFO platform powers the most widely deployed professional drone swarms in the industry and has earned more than 18 Guinness World Records.
UVIFY gives back to the community in equally concrete ways. The company developed the OMEGA and the IFO-s as open PX4 development platforms that reduce integration friction for developers, researchers, and integrators. At the recent MAVLink-M hackathon, the UVIFY team showcased the interoperability of the new dialect with their participation.
“UVIFY’s relationship with Dronecode goes back many years, so becoming a Platinum Member is less about joining something new and more about deepening a relationship that has been part of our company’s evolution.
Open source, open standards, and the communities built around them have played an important role in advancing our industry. Dronecode has brought together an exceptional group of engineers, companies, and innovators who understand that we can build better technology, and a stronger ecosystem, when we solve foundational challenges together.
UVIFY has grown considerably over that same period. As we scale globally across swarm drones, autonomous systems, physical AI, robotics, and other emerging applications, we believe our responsibility to contribute should grow with us. We value what this community has contributed to UVIFY’s journey, and becoming a Platinum Member gives us an opportunity to contribute more meaningfully in return.
The next generation of autonomous and distributed systems will require greater interoperability, stronger standards, and deeper collaboration across the industry. We look forward to working with our friends at Dronecode and the broader community to help shape what comes next.”
– Robert Cheek, COO, UVIFY
UVIFY’s journey from a small team to a record-setting manufacturer shows what a company can build on top of open software and standards, and their Platinum tier commitment significantly strengthens the foundation’s ability to advance open-source drone development at scale. We congratulate the UVIFY team on this important milestone and look forward to their continued leadership across Dronecode Foundation projects.
